Green Fleet & Advanced Opti Clinic
September 8 & 9, 2012
Who Should Attend?
Green Fleet Opti Sailors should have at least one or two years of Early Birds or Learn to SAIL class (or equivalent), be able to maneuver the boat easily on all points of sail, and (most importantly) MUST show an interest in racing. The Green Fleet will cover beginning racing preparation and tactics, racing rules, right of way, starting drills, and a little fun mixed in! I mean, it is still the Green Fleet, right?
Advanced Opti Sailors should be at least 9 years old, have completed two years of Basic Opti Class or one year of Learn to SAIL class (or equivalent), participate regularly in fleet races, and are interested in becoming more competitive on the Opti regatta circuit.

Who are the Coaches?
Green Fleet Coach – Amy Thompson
Amy is one of our own AYC Junior Sailing alumni. She attended our sailing camp for 8 years and has been a counselor at our camp now for 7 years. She has extensive regatta experience, is a very competitive Laser sailor, raced in the Leiter Cup Junior Women's Championship in Lasers, and last year was on the team that won the Thistle Women's National Championship. Amy is great with kids and will be an inspiration to our up and coming racers!
Advanced Coach – Elizabeth Chambers
Back by popular demand – Elizabeth Chambers will be coaching our Advanced group. This will be Elizabeth’s third time coaching at AYC. Elizabeth attends the College of Charleston, is on the sailing team (which is ranked #1 in college sailing), is a Level One Instructor, and has extensive Laser and Opti coaching experience. We welcome her back to AYC!
When and Where?
Saturday, September 8 from 2:00 to 6:00 (rigged and ready by 2:00)
Sunday, September 9 from 9:00 to 4:00 (rigged and ready by 9:00)

How Much is the Fee?
The fee for the clinic is $65.00 per sailor. Register online NOW! Because we are including the Green fleet in this clinic Club Boats will be limited and first come is first served. Make checks payable to AYC, include the skipper's name, and specify either “Green Fleet” or “Advanced” for each sailor and send to:

Is Food Provided?
A snack will be provided on Saturday and Sunday. Due to the Clubhouse re-build, we are asking that everyone bring their own sack lunch for Sunday.
