2026 LABOR DAY WEEKEND

September 5-7, 2026

The Labor Day team has put together a fantastic 2026 celebration!  Labor Day weekend will provide you, your family and friends time to relax and have fun. Check the schedule of activities, plan to enjoy,  and register.  The weekend includes sailing activities, social events for children and adults, meals, and yes, volunteer opportunities!

There are still opportunities for you to contribute to the success of the weekend!

2026 Schedule of Events

Friday, Sept 4

7:30 pm:  Welcome Sunset Party - DJ Reid & Ice Cream Cones

Saturday, Sept 5:  Juniors' Day 2026!  AYC JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP in Lasers & Junior Regatta in Opti's/420

8:00 am - 9:00 am:  Junior Championship Check-in, Registration and Club Boat Assignments

9:00 am:  Junior Championship Competitor's Meeting

9:55 am:  Junior Championship First Race Warning Signal


10:00 am:  Water Slide


12:00 pm:  Lunch - Complimentary Junior Championship participants' lunch 

12:00 pm:  Lunch - Chick-Fil-A box lunch available for purchase for all non-Junior Championship Participants


1:15 pm:  Junior Championship Warning Signal. Goal is to complete as many races as time allows. No warning signal will be made after 4:00 pm. Presentation of awards following the races.


3:00 pm:  Popsicles at the Water Slide


6:30 pm:  AYC Style "Everyone's Welcome" Cookout;  Bring your entree/ meat to grill, and a side dish to share.  If you don’t feel like impressing your friends with your special side dish, you can donate $10/person or $25/family and we will provide a delicious dish for you.


8:00 - 11:00 pm:  Hunt for Mr Whiskers - Catfish tournament in the channel  (Note: Children 12 and under require an Adult Sponsor) 

8:00 - 10:00 pm:  Movie Night


Sunday, Sept 6

9:00 am:  Church at the Point

9:00 am:  Women's Championship Competitors Meeting

9:30 am:  Thirty (30) minute signal for start of race one of the Women's Championship

9:55 am:  First Race Warning Signal; Race two to follow


10 am:  Water Slide

12:30 – 1:15 pm (approx.):  Competitors' Lunch at the Clubhouse
1:30 pm (approx.):  Warning Signal Thirty (30) minutes before start of race threeThree races are planned; no warning signal will be made after 4:00 pm
After the races – Awards & Cocktails at the Point.

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm:  Get ready for the Cardboard Board Races- Build Your Boat

3:00 pm:  Vintage Ice Cream

4:00 pm:  Celebrate the Ladies After Party


5:00 pm:  Cardboard Boat Race  (Notice of Race 2026

6:30 pm:  Jeffrey's famous Margaritas

7:00 pm:  Dinner - Willie’s Fajita bar with Quesadillas fresh off the griddle... Dessert: Churros & Ice cream.

8:00 pm:  Balloon Bash Prep party in the lower lounge

8:00 pm:  Music & S'Mores - AYC Jamm by the firepit- Grab your guitar, fiddle, harmonica to join in, or just come relax and sing along

Monday,  Sept 7

7:30 am:  Allatoona Shuffle race

8:30 am:  Pancake Breakfast

9:30-10:30 am:  Laser/ILCA/Sunfish/Opti Regatta registration in the clubhouse

10:30 am:  Balloon Bash

12:00 pm:  Laser/ILCA/Sunfish/Opti Regatta Competitors meeting in front of the RC dock. Bring your own lunch
12:57 pm:  Warning signal for first race. 
More races to follow. We will try for six races. No race will start after 4:00 pm. Post-race refreshments, socializing, and awards at the Point Viewing Pavilion.
