Labor Day Weekend

August 31 - September 2, 2024

Labor "no labor" Day weekend will provide you, your family and friends time to relax and have fun. Check the calendar of activities, plan accordingly and register.  The weekend includes sailing activities, social events for children and adults, meals, and yes, volunteer opportunities!

Labor Day Volunteer Opportunities

Register for the following: (Register by Monday, August 26 at 10pm)

  • All Meals
  • Women’s Championship, Sunday Sept 1 (Please note that all competitors must pre-register and provide boat and crew information. See the specific regatta site for NOR and Sailing Instructions)
  • Cardboard Boat Races, Sunday Sept 1
  • Allatoona Shuffle Fun Run, Monday Sept 2
  • Pancake breakfast, Monday Sept 2

Saturday


8:00 am - 9:00 am
Junior Championship Check-in, Registration and Club Boat Assignments


9:00 am 
Junior Championship Competitor's Meeting

Junior Championship First Race Warning Signal


12:00 pm -1:00 pm 
Lunch: Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, chips, cookie and drink. Cost is $9/Person (Jr. Championship registration includes lunch, do not register sailors or race committee) 


1:15 pm

Warning Signal. Goal is to complete as many races as time allows. No warning signal will be made after 4:00 pm. Presentation of awards following the races


4:30 pm - 6:00 pm
1st Round of Cornhole Tournament in Green Space


5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Cocktail Hour. Come join us for a pre-dinner cocktail outside the Clubhouse


6:30 pm 
Dinner: BBQ Competition for Adults ($18/Adult) and Chicken Fingers for Kids ($8/Child, 12 and under)
Dessert will be provided


After Dinner ~8:00 pm - 10:00? pm

Thirty (30) minute signal for start of Race 1

Warning Signal Race 1 Women’s Championship


12:00 to 1:15 (approx.)

Lunch:  Jimmy John's Sandwich, chips, pickle and dessert Box Lunch. There will be a variety of sandwiches available on first come, first served basis. Cost is $14/Person (Women's Championship registration includes lunch, do not register sailors or race committee) 


1:15 pm - 4:00 pm

Women’s Championship final race(s).  Presentation of awards following the races


2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Get ready for the Cardboard Board Races while enjoying a Kona Ice treat at Parking lot near beach


5:00 pm

Cardboard Races (NOR)


6:30 pm 

Dinner: Traditional AYC Potluck. Bring your grilling item and a dish to share.
Dessert competition: if you would like to bring a dessert to be judged. (Enter your dessert in this SignUpGenius)


After dinner, all juniors are invited to meet in the junior room to prepare for the balloon bash

Allatoona Shuffle Fun Run - Free Registration

Pancake Breakfast. Free for Runners, $4/Person non-runner


9:30 am – 10:30 am

Registration for Laser/ILCA/Sunfish/Opti Regatta in the clubhouse


10:30 am

Balloon Bash


12:00 pm

Laser/ILCA/Sunfish/Opti Competitor's Meeting in front of the RC Dock (bring your lunch and come down)


12:57 pm – 4:00 pm

Laser/ILCA/Sunfish/Opti Regatta.  Presentation of awards at the Viewing Pavilion following races


2:00 pm
Club Clean up. All are invited to help. Volunteer
