Welcome to One Design Sailing in Atlanta!

Are you looking for a budget-friendly sport that everyone in the family can enjoy? Then let us welcome you to the world of inland lake sailing!

Atlanta Yacht Club, north of Atlanta on Lake Allatoona, is celebrating 70 years of sailing in 2020! On weekends from late March to November, you will find our shores dappled with one-design sailing craft heading out for an afternoon on the water with friends and family. Whether they come for friendly (but first-rate) competition, sailing classes or just an opportunity to relax with a day on the lake, what binds our members and families to AYC is their commitment to the sport of sailing and their choice to spend their leisure time in an activity where everyone in the family can “play”.

We're Number One!

The Atlanta Yacht Club is home to several active one-design racing fleets. Among those, we are proud to say, the Snipe, Thistle and Y-Flyer fleets are the largest fleets within each of their class organizations. AND we are also proud of the fact that each of these fleets hosts the largest fleet-hosted regatta within their class: Snipe Fleet 330's Halloween Regatta, Thistle Fleet 48's Dixie Regatta, and Y-Flyer Fleet 1's Beers Regatta. We are known for our competitive racing and our hospitality!

If you are a Snipe, Thistle, Y-Flyer, Laser or Opti sailor without a lake  … check us out! If you have a genuine interest, we believe AYC has a wide range of sailing and social activities to offer you and your family.

Come sail with us!

AYC offers sailing lessons for adults and youth. Sailboat races are held most weekends April through October and crewing opportunities are available.
