Situated on Lake Allatoona in Acworth, GA, Atlanta Yacht Club has been home to racing and pleasure sailors since 1950.
The members and families of AYC are committed to the sport of sailing and enjoy the opportunity to participate in a life-long activity. We host races and regattas, learn-to-sail classes and social activities. Club facilities include a beautiful clubhouse overlooking the lake, launch ramps and floating docks, viewing pavilions and a beach.
All year long you will find our lake populated with one-design sailing craft, our members enjoying an afternoon on the water with friends and family. Even during the winter, sailors can be seen training and racing.
The Atlanta Yacht Club is home to a variety of active one-design racing fleets: Thistles, Y-Flyers, Snipes, Flying Scots, Lasers and Sunfish. Our Junior Yacht Club trains in fleets of 420s and Optimist Prams.
AYC hosts a number of annual sailing events and regattas. There are also those events that change location annually; this year, AYC has been selected to host the 2024 US Flying Scot Association Wife-Husband Championship in September.
We are committed to expanding the sport of sailing, and continuing to live up to our reputation for competitive racing and hospitality in an environment that engages and delights our membership. Our members' common purpose is loyalty to small boat sailing, ensuring that it will continue to flourish at Atlanta Yacht Club for a long time to come.
AYC is a member of US SAILING and the South Atlantic Yacht Racing Association (SAYRA).
