On behalf of the Atlanta Yacht Club, we are delighted to invite you to the 2026 Y-Flyer Midwinters Championship Regatta from March 13–15, 2026, at our beautiful club on Lake Allatoona in Acworth, Georgia. We’re eager to welcome sailors from across the fleet for another unforgettable weekend filled with spirited competition, camaraderie, and our signature Southern hospitality.
Weekend Overview
Friday Evening – Welcome Aboard!
We’re excited to kick off the weekend with a relaxed communal dinner and plenty of friendly conversation as we gather for an evening of fun, food, and refreshments. It’s the perfect way to reconnect with old friends, welcome new sailors, and set the tone for a great Midwinters weekend!
Saturday – Racing
We’ll start the day bright and early with a hearty breakfast for sailors, race committee, and members. Racing will begin mid-morning, followed by a break for lunch and an afternoon back on the water for more competition.
After a full day of sailing, unwind with a warm shower and get ready for a Saturday night celebration you won’t want to miss! We’ll enjoy live entertainment by David Payton, an oyster roast, and a variety of delicious non-seafood options and evening refreshments. Don't leave all of your energy on the race course. Save some energy for Saturday evening. Live music will set the tone, with dancing always an option if you're feeling it. And plenty of time for great camaraderie and lively conversations about the days sailing.
Sunday – Closing Races and Awards
We’ll head out early for the final races of the regatta, wrapping up another wonderful weekend of competition. Following racing, please join us for the awards ceremony and a closing lunch as we celebrate our winners and bid farewell to our traveling sailors.

Friday, March 13
6:00 - 10:00 p.m. Registration and Welcome Aboard Party at the clubhouse
Saturday, March 14
8:00 - 8:45 a.m. Late registration at clubhouse
7:45 -9:00 a.m. Breakfast at clubhouse
9:15 a.m. Competitors meeting in the courtyard on the side of the clubhouse
10:25 a.m. Warning signal for race 1 with subsequent races to follow
Lunch then Afternoon racing
6:30 p.m. Gather for live entertainment, oyster roast, and drinks
7:00 p.m. Dinner with live entertainment to followSunday, March 15
7:45 - 8:30 a.m. Breakfast at clubhouse
9:25 a.m. First warning signal of the day with subsequent races to follow
No Race will start after 12:00 p.m.
After Racing - Lunch and awards at the clubhouse
Eligibility
The Midwinters Championship Regatta is open to all boats of the Y-Flyer Class. Skippers and crews must be current members of either the Canadian or American Y-Flyer Sailing Associations. AYFSA memberships may be purchased or renewed online HERE or in person during registration.
Regatta entry fee is $120 with a $5 discount for US Sailing / CSA members

Welcome aboard dinner (FREE for sailors and their families; $10/person for guests)

Saturday
Breakfast ($8/person)
Breakfast casserole along with continental breakfast items (yogurt, granola, fruit, pastries)
Lunch ($10/person)
Soup, grilled cheese & salad
Dinner ($20/person)
Oyster Roast Dump Shucking Table (until we run out)
Chilled Raw bar with Raw Oysters and Shrimp Cocktail (until we run out)
Jerk Chicken, Mac & Cheese, Rice & Peas and Salad Bar
Sunday
Breakfast ($8/person)
Stuffed blueberry french toast casserole along with continental breakfast items (yogurt, granola, fruit, pastries)
Lunch ($10/person)
Hamburgers and hotdogs, cole slaw, baked beans, chips
Housing and Hospitality
There are a few reasons Atlanta Yacht Club is such a special venue. We know how to show true Southern hospitality and make your stay memorable. A limited number of member-borrowed cabins will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you’d like to reserve a cabin, please contact Trixy Hanson at trixyandjoe@gmail.com as soon as possible. Cabin requests made after March 1 will not be considered, and space fills quickly — early registration is strongly recommended.
Regatta Gear
Commemorate your Midwinters experience with custom Y-Flyer hats and quarter-zip sweatshirts. Please note that ordering deadlines apply, so register early to guarantee your gear!
