Membership Inquiry Form

Regular Membership in Atlanta Yacht Club is available to any person who owns a fleet racing dinghy, or who has raced sailboats in the past and is looking to get back into the sport. We also welcome those who have an interest in learning to sail. Preference is given to those sailors interested in racing Flying Scots, Thistles, Snipes, Y-Flyers, Lasers/ILCA and Sunfish, since we have fleets of each of these boats already in existence at AYC. Our Juniors also race Lasers, 420s and Optimist Prams.

Prospective members will be expected to affiliate with one of our fleets, if only to get their feet wet and learn about the different kinds of boats. Those who do not yet have a boat but have an interest in racing are always welcome as crew, and are strongly encouraged to take our adult sailing class, which teaches the fundamentals of sailing, seamanship and water safety, as well as racing skills.

Membership is not an overnight process. Please expect to come see our campus, sail, see what racing is all about, and get to know some of our sailors.  All applicants must be sponsored by two regular full members, and then be interviewed by our membership committee.
