Veteran Dixie Competitors’ check-in inside Derby Headquarters

9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Brunch at the trackside cafe
Wagering window opens

11:30 a.m.
Play yard opens for Colts and Fillies

12:00 noon
Competitors report to Point for post positions and race regulations

1:00 p.m.
Spectator boat passengers meet at the Point (BYO life jackets)

1:25 p.m.
They're off!

6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Evening Care & Activities for Colts and Fillies

6:15 p.m.
Feed bag for Colts and Fillies

6:30 p.m.
Cool-down party in the meadow 
Mint juleps and margaritas, along with our signature “Kentucky Hot Browns” and a splendid spread of munchies for grazing

Horse (but of Course!) shoes and bouncy horses in the meadow 

Dress code?  Derby duds, dude!  Unless you happen to have a suit of jockey silks in the back of your closet, you can start with sundresses and floral prints for My Fair Ladies, white pants and seersucker for the gentlemen.  Add pastels, madras, tiny checks, bowties, ascots, suspenders. . . now you’re getting there.  But don’t forget HATS!  Big hats, little hats, boater hats, designer hats, straw hats, flowered hats, flouncy hats, bowler hats, Panama hats, hats of your own creative genius — nothing is off limits.  (And rest assured, there WILL be a hat derby!)

8:30 p.m.
Cutting of the official Derby cake
Party up at the Downs - Get down and Derby!

8:30 p.m.
Movie for Colts and Fillies age 5 & up


7:30 a.m.
Caffeine and calories at the cafe before heading back to the track

8:30 a.m. 
Colts and fillies back to the play yard

9:25 a.m.
3rd race warning signal 
(No warning signal will be made after 1:00 for Flight 1.  Flight 2 may have a warning signal after 1:00.) 

12:30 p.m.
Lunch and wagering window payoff
Fanfare for the 2018 Dixie Derby winners~
