Winter Seminar Program - Crewing

  • 28 Feb 2015
  • 5:00 PM
  • Clubhouse

The Winter Seminar Program will start with the sailing seminar series at 5:00 pm (see schedule below), followed by supper for everyone at 6:30 and Fleet Meetings to follow. The format for supper is meat to grill and dish to share so that we do not need reservations – just come if you can.

The target groups for these seminars vary from A to Z – from kids in the Learn to Sail classes, to adults who have never really learned to be comfortable in their boats, to members of the community who have always been curious about how a sailboat works, to expert sailors who want to share tips and tactics that work, sometimes!

Each session will be stand alone, so that there is no problem whether you come to just a few or to all. Each session will start with the simplest of the basic concepts and get more and more involved, topping out when all questions have been explored and the best knowledge shared. It is anticipated that many attendees will stay for a while and then move to another area of the club to share less mentally challenging activities, so don’t feel that you are stuck there for the evening! The basics of sail trim, boat balance and handling, and tactics will be emphasized.
