* Note: Sailors must be on the water at the line at the time of the warning gun. Multiple races (as many as practical) will be attempted per day.
Eligibility
All AYC Junior members who will not reach the age of 19 in 2008. No registration required - just show up!
Scoring
Series score will be the average of the scores of the races sailed using the low point scoring system. Ties will be broken using US Sailing rules. Sailors must sail a minimum of 10 races or 1/2 of the total races sailed (whichever is less) to be eligible for awards. Once a sailor sails 10 races, one race will be dropped from the scoring for each additional 5 races sailed.
Note : races on the days coinciding with Laser fleet races will count towards both series.
Awards
Awards ($50, $30, $20 Target Gift Cards) will be given to Top 3 series scores AND Top 3 participants (excluding those with Top 3 series scores) based on number of races sailed.
The series will be governed by the rules defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
All boats must check in with the race committee before starting - hail your name and number and request acknowledgement from the race committee. Races will be started with a three minute sequence.
Races will be conducted in conjunction with the Opti races, typically using the following course (mid-leg windward - leeward, 2 laps):

Further instructions and/or modifications may be communicated by the race committee on the water.
